Stong Gaze of a Lynx

Published:

Description

The Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx)

This picture was taken in a national park in the northern parts of Sweden.

The lynx followed me with his eyes constantly and looked very very evil :) This is a typical look of the lynx love the intensity and the total focus

What have i done with the picture:
1. desaturated and darken the background
2. Brighten up the eyes with curves and used dodge tool
3. brighten up the fur and used high pass to sharpen the fur

If you like pictures of Lynx or Wolves and other wildlife and have the time please visit my gallery and tell me what you think their is a good chance you find something you like :)

Sincerely

Wow, what an incredible shot!
How did you manage to get that close to a Lynx in the wild? I mean, they are
perhaps one of the most illusive creatures on the planet. Or as we like to say,
they are like the shadows of the mountains which you see moving in the dark ...

So again, well done!

To the picture itself, it looks great! It would do nicely as a postcard or even a bigger
print in a nature magazine/book. For my taste I have to say you did a great job in
reworking it, but maybe just this wee bit too much ... The eyes for example, yes,
you are right, they make the picture complete and form a nice focus point.
But as intensely glowing as they do in your shoot one would only find them in
high quality graphics and drawings rather then in nature. The same holds true
for the fur and the background works. It looks fantastic as it is, but nature just
is not quite like that, especially if you take shoots out in the wild. It often is difficult
enough to even get a snapshot of a creature like this in the great outdoors, so, if you
do, you don't need to rework quite as much to make it "the perfect shoot".

Keep up the great work!
All the Best!
Mario

I personally think that one can't make nature more beautiful than it is already.
Your eyes are the most valuable tools to capture it and your memories are
the best way of re-living the moments which you most enjoyed.
Cameras are just there for you to share the moments ...
